The difficult second song
I'm underway writing and recording my second track.
I wrote a very basic guitar riff, recorded it into GarageBand and put down some rough bass and a backing drum beat to see how it sounded:
I wasn't happy with it if I'm honest. People that know me, know that I like pop and the feel of this felt a touch too cheesy even for me.
So I've decided to play the main part on piano, change the tempo / rythm / instrumentation and am much happier with it:
This is still very rough even for an intro, levels and other bits all need to be adjusted.
Lyrics and melody will be next. I already have a theme for the song: It'll be about knowing that someone doesn't want you and being torn between the feeling of hiding from it all and confronting the person, to know the truth.
Some of my songs will be based on how I feel and others will be based on my imagination of feelings, just to put it out there my marriage is fine and I'm very happy!
I'm going to experiment with different drum patterns on this one, I'll also attempt to add some harmonies in the chorus. I want the chorus to sound fuller, so I'm thinking about adding in distorted electric guitar too.
If anyone has any questions on anything I do, please just shout.
Whilst I have inspiration and something to work on, I'll want to press on with getting it done, so I'm hoping to have this track complete in a week's time.
